John and his wife, Sabrina, have been part of the Black Hills Church family since its beginning in 1995. After returning to the Black Hills that summer, they found more than a congregation—they found a family. Through life's highest joys and some of its deepest valleys, God has used this church to sustain, encourage, and shape them.

John serves as an elder and as part of the teaching team. He loves helping people see familiar passages of Scripture with fresh eyes, discovering that God's story is often deeper, richer, and more beautiful than they imagined. Whether preaching, mentoring, or sharing coffee across the table, his desire is simple: to help people know Jesus more deeply and follow Him more closely.

John and Sabrina have been married since 1980 and are blessed with four children and seven grandchildren.

Charlie and his family have been part of the Black Hills Church of Christ since 2020. As a retired military officer, Charlie and his family worshiped with many different congregations as they moved across the U.S. and abroad. When they were finally stationed at Ellsworth AFB, they knew they had found a home with the Black Hills Church.

Charlie is passionate about shepherding God’s people and helping others grow in their faith. He currently works heavily with the church’s online presence, and welcoming ministry. He loves seeing people come to know Christ and experience genuine Christian community.

Charlie and his wife Carla have been married since 1999 and are blessed with four children. They are thankful to serve the Lord together in the Black Hills.

“We have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us” (2 Corinthians 4:7).

Any strength or wisdom they offer points beyond themselves to the treasure of Christ within.
